If you want to improve the look of your hair or give it a new look but you’d prefer not to have it cut, there are lots of options. It is not necessary to change your basic hair style to mix up your look a little and there are lots of ways to make your hair look at its best without needing to visit a hair salon.
Start by making sure your hair is in tip top condition. You should use a deep conditioning or hot oil treatment, preferably left in overnight. Take care when you wash and dry your hair – washing too often can strip natural oils and make it dull and fluffy. If you like to wash your hair every day then try just rinsing through with conditioner – you’ll get the same clean feeling without damaging your hair.
If you suffer from frizzy hair then try hair products that are specially formulated for this condition. You also may have success from using a final cool rinse when you wash your hair and taking extra care with drying. Do not rub your hair, which fluffs up the hair shaft. Instead the water should be gently squeezed out with a dry towel. This is particularly important if you have curly hair.
Once your hair is in the best condition possible, you can start thinking of ideas for a new look. One easy idea is just to change the way you style your hair. There are lots of ideas for up-dos and other hair styles with instructions available on the internet, often with accompanying videos. This may be just enough to give you the change you needed.
For a more dramatic change you might want to consider dying your hair. Use a hair color chart to look at different shades and choose one that suits your eyes and skin tone. Even a subtle change to your hair color can make a big difference to your look and give you that lift you’ve been looking for.

Instead of replacing things every year or each time your child outgrows the present item, you just adjust the settings on the one you have got.
